Learning to Seek Only for the Approval of Christ and Finding Complete Satisfaction in Him

In Exodus, after Moses leads the Israelites out of Egypt while they are wandering in the desert, God provides manna to sustain them. Despite that God made food appear out of the sky, they grumbled and complained and complained against God for delivering them from Egypt where there was bountiful food. God the Father came down from his throne seated high to fill and sustain his people, and they rejected him. Doesn't sound at all familiar, does it?

After He feeds the five thousand, Jesus calls out some of those who are in the crowd of followers for seeking after him because of their superficial desires, to be fed rather than out their faith as a result of the signs and wonders that he has performed. Jesus says to them, "I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty" (John 6:26)

Christ has come to fulfill and sustain us and surrounded by God's provision we look back and long for our enslavement.

If our source of fulfillment is anything other than that which is from the Lord, we will never be satisfied. *channels all the Renée Elise Goldsberry vibes* What is seen is, in fact, temporary and the Lord wants more for us than to labor and toil for that which perishes, the Father sent us his son so that upon us he could pour out his Spirit, which is eternal, everlasting and in it there is full contentment and satisfaction in.

Christ is our eternal wellspring. We have exchanged the truth of God for a lie and worshiped created things rather Creator. As servants of Christ, we are adopted into sonship, united and share in the inheritance of Jesus, the Messiah, dwelling places of the Ancient of Days. We're not called to seek the praises man (What Christ has shed upon us is so so much sweeter anyway). I don't know about you, but I don't want anybody other than Christ guiding my steps, for I know let my foot slip.

For me, starting this journey blogging and just being more transparent about my on my Instagram have been things I have wanted to pursue, but wasn't sure how it would be received so I have shied away until now. Something I have really been practicing just as a part of my love and life with Christ is vocally rebuking sin and the enemy. Recently, that has been a whole of selfish ambition, really praying for the Lord to tear down those walls and also the longing to be fulfilled in others. In the middle of this, I was gifted an amazing drawing that has served as such a great reminder for me that Christ is the one and only thing that is going to satisfy my insatiable heart. I'll leave you with these two verses out of Romans, chapter 8:

"We know that the whole creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time.  Not only so, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for our adoption to sonship, the redemption of our bodies."
